Born and raised across Egypt while being taken to a multi-national school from a young age, I came to learn that home is not a place, but a culture, a feeling, a vision. Art has been my thing for as long as I can remember, all kinds of it — painting, music, movies, writing — everything, everywhere spoke to my heart. And don’t get me started on my love for nature!
In early middle school, I was gifted my first “real” camera ever, the Sony Cybershot. I cherished it with my life and took it to my travels in France (twice), Switzerland, and Thailand throughout my middle and high school years. Then the iPhone made me a “phone photographer” from my junior year in high school. On my trips to Spain, Italy, and Andora, the iPhone was my memory-making camera. That was till my second year of college in the US (2018) when I bought my first DSLR, the Canon EOS Rebel SL2. Many beautiful college memories were made with this camera in Los Angeles, and this was when I started to take photography seriously and as more than just a hobby.
In 2019, I bought my first (and favorite) 35mm film camera,
the Pentax K1000. My film diary started there and has not stopped since.
LIL FACTS ABOUT ME
I live in a little cottage core fairytale in my head.
Taking photographs of leaves & flowers is a relaxing hobby; I adore leaves & flowers.
The term “wind friend” comes from my deep connection and love for the wind and general air element.
I graduated with a BFA degree in Cinema/TV Directing from a college in Los Angeles (& lived there for 4 years).
Can’t call me a gamer per se but I’m heck obsessed with Genshin Impact (Kazuha main since his first banner).
Not a coffee gal but a HUGE tea one — matcha tea, herbal tea, normal tea, bubble tea, all of it.
I will always believe in love & kindness, in grace and gentleness — they are qualities of my own soul and approach to the world.
On my 21st birthday, I impulsively skipped a few days of college to celebrate it on my own in Beijing, China. No family, no friends, no guides. Just me and my accidental trip up that one mountain (ask me to tell you about it when we meet).
